What is different about my solution approach is my personalization philosophy. I believe that listening to you is so important because this is your time, your health, and your treatment. This program is tailored to you from three aspects, your goals, your needs, and objective findings. I am going to look at you and your goals in a holistic way. This is about education, empowerment and responsibility to move forward into a wellness lifestyle. This isn’t just an hour massage and we are done. This is a lifestyle change. We are creating lasting results and providing tools for you to take control of your health now and in the future.
What you want to accomplish really runs and dictates the plan. What you need from me and also what you need to be successful are identified as well. For example maybe you are the type of person who really wants to know all of the details and inner workings of the body, so for that type of client we might spend more time on education. Or you could be someone who doesn’t need to know everything just very simple concepts and instructions on how you can work on yourself in between sessions. So for that treatment plan we would spend more time on self-care tips and things you can do at home. I take my direction and planning from you.
Finally, the last piece of the puzzle is the objective findings from your assessment. In the assessment we will go over your health history, lifestyle, any daily stress your body is under, and how you are feeling physically. I will also do some range of motion testing, and conduct a hands on evaluation to identify any trigger points or restricted areas. This will give me a good idea of what areas need to be worked on and also a starting point to measure our progress.
I typically like to create a plan for 12 weeks. That might mean we meet once, twice a week during that 12 week period. The frequency depends on how involved the issue is and how your body responds to the treatment. Progress also depends on how much self-care you do between sessions as well. A typical treatment plan may look like 1 session a week for about 60 minutes in weeks 1-6 and then dropping to once every two weeks thereafter. After the initial treatment plan is over we will re-evaluate and either extend the plan or come up with a maintenance program. A good consistant maintenance plan would be 1 session every 3-4 weeks. This all depends on your progress and what is going to work the best for you.
